Many countries have reported a surge in the covid cases since the emergence of the new variant. However, China has confirmed that it has not reported any new Covid-19 infection within the past two months. This must be great news to China, and kudos to their preventive and control measures. It is time countries start to emulate what China is doing to curb the virus strictly.

No New Coronavirus Case

It appears China has managed to contain the virus. This was after official data released on Monday showed no new cases. According to the country’s National Health Commission, all the new cases they confirmed last year were imported. I.e., the people who came to China from Shanghai and parts of Southeastern Guangdong province were the possible carriers.

Since December, it is the first time China confirms zero covid-19 infections. The number of new asymptomatic cases that china does not categorize as confirmed covid cases rose to 10 from 6. Meanwhile, most countries are recording new cases of the variant. More so after the festive season, during which people laid low their guard. Because of the stringent measures, Chinese authorities enacted, the virus has not spread to Hebei, Beijing, and northeastern Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces.

COVID-19 Tally in China

The total number of coronavirus cases in China stands at 89706, while the death toll is 4636. That confirms that China is in a better situation than countries like United States, South Africa, which continue to report new cases. More so of the highly contagious variant. China is hoping to flatten its curve in the future.

Measures China Upholds Amid the Pandemic

For China to be where it is now, different parties have collaborated, using their respective strength to combat the virus. In most cases, China has mitigated through mobilizing its society at large. To date, China continues to implement actions to control new cases’ resurgence as their main aim is to keep their country safe.

Chinese government reinstated Draconian measures in response to the virus, which had become a global threat. One of the first measures the government enforced was declaring lockdown and encouraged people to shut down their businesses. Staying at home became the new form of life. Local and international flights were no more, as the government had banned them. Social meetings, bars, theaters, restaurants, malls were all under closure. And sure enough, these measures yielded positive outcomes for China. However, amid the first wave, hospitals were packed, doctors had to work off their ass, so it was not easy.

When the cases started declining, the government permitted people to go out. Nonetheless, they had to wear masks, sanitize, and social distance. Masking was not a culture many adapted to quickly, especially people with breathing difficulties. At the onset of the pandemic, Wuhan China was the center, and fortunately, it has managed to control its cases.

Other than the safety measures, vaccinations against the virus have also kicked off in the country. Since China can manufacture its vaccines, they are not having challenges accessing them. They are living in the hope that they will combat the virus.
