Remember the time in the 2000s when you first heard of PlayStation. PS 1 was also looking like a wi-fi router. Its successor PS 2, came in 2 models. The slim one was the most famous as it consumed less power. The 3D platform games for PS 1 were the most amazing. During the reveal event of PS 5, Sony presented the new console with traces of the 3D platformers. It appears like history is repeating itself with the launch of PS 5. The Sony company may be relying on nostalgia for the previous models to aid in selling the new console.
What are the 3D Platformers?
The 3D platformer games are the ones that bring out the play in 3 dimensions and 3D graphics. The 1st trial to bring the platform games into 3 dimensions, it used the graphics of the 2 dimensions and had an isometric viewpoint. The 1st platformers to act out a 3-dimension viewpoint and a moveable camera device appeared in the 1980s. In the 1990s, Sony chose to take up a prevailing work by Naughty Dog who announced Way of the Warrior. Sony’s move was a great one. The creation of the platform games did not stop at PS 1, more and more games came up. For example, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, Vex, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, and Dr. Muto. TY the Tasmanian, Ape Escape 2, Pac-Man World 2, Tak: The Great Juju Challenge, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, Haven: Call of the King was also in the long list.
The PS 5 as a Sequel for the 3D Platform Games Generation
Just like in PS 1 and 2, PS 5 has games in the genre of the 3D platformer. From Ratchet and Clank, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Astro Playroom to Sack boy: A big Adventure all have the PS 1 nostalgic 3D platform games. During the presentation, they started the show with recognizable PlayStation beginning song and briefed at its past. Sony using the PS 1 era nostalgic move was strategic in the marketing sector as most PS 1 and 2 fans will be happy in promoting the PS5.
