COVID-19 causes havoc and continues to wreck spotting activities.

Coronavirus continues to provoke the never-ending crisis across the globe. Numerous sporting activities have fallen victim to the virus. The virus which originated last year in December from China in Wuhan continues to wreck economic activities at large. Fifa now aids to save the football world against the pandemic.

 

Football is the most affected outdoor activity hence branded as the epicenter of the virus. It is however ironic because footballers are also susceptible to the virus despite them being fit and healthy.

Premier league postpones all matches until 4th April.

Premier League CEO announced the suspension of all matches on Friday because of the corona pandemic. This was after he had earlier announced on Thursday that matches will proceed as scheduled. This turn of events was after they confirmed that Mikel Arteta, Arsenal Manager tested positive for the virus.

He said they were doubling their efforts with the other governments to ensure the safety of players, staff, and supporters. He advised all those who had contact with infected persons to self-quarantine. And also wished all those who were infected quick recovery.

Similarly, the Dutch Eredivisie, France’s Liguel, Portugal’s Primiera Liga and the United States Major League Soccer are all on suspension.

Coronavirus has taken a toll on over 22 famous professional footballers and some managers.

According to game yetu, over 22 popular superstars and team managers have tested positive for the novel virus. With governments recording a new wave of infections daily.

Liver pool legend, Kenny Dalglish tested positive for the virus. The results were coincidental since he had not shown any corona symptoms. He was in the hospital receiving treatment for another infection when he received the news.

 

Former Barcelona goalkeeper, Rusto Recber also tested positive for COVID-19. He was just normal before he started showing the symptoms. This news surprised his family.

Manager of Galatasaray, Fatih Terim also tested positive for the virus. He assured the public he was in good hands and that he hoped to recover soon.

FIFA is an association in charge of governing football across the globe. It channels most of its income for the growth of soccer and ensures the world cup regulations are universal. However, despite the virus continuing to wreck football, FIFA is determined to save the industry.

The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino announced were making plans for emergency funds to help amid the corona pandemic. With no matches, fans nor teams, the football industry will be crippled.

The emergency funds are for sustaining the soccer industry during such extraordinary times. If global football leaders support the plan, they will raise hundreds of millions of dollars which will solve the financial distress some teams are experiencing. Especially since it is quite unfortunate teams like Barcelona announced pay reductions for their multimillionaire superstars.

Gianni also prioritizes the wellbeing of players especially since over 22 players have tested positive for the virus. He urges people to stay safe and self-quarantine. Especially since we are all football executives, it is our responsibility to stay safe.
