The coronavirus has changed a lot of things in the world that people thought were just normal. For example, there is a prohibition of funerals, weddings, and conferences in some countries due to the spread of the virus. Governments are coming up with measures to help curb the spread and try to attain the normalcy state. In Africa, most countries are suffering due to their weak healthcare system and lack of finances.
Ghana, one of the countries in Africa, has the most cases in its West African region. In June, the government began lifting off the coronavirus regulations. The president said the borders will still not be open, some learning institutions will reopen, places of worship to reopen, and allowance of political operations. The allowance of political activities is due to election operations.
Ghana Records Close to 30000 Coronavirus Cases
The Health Service declared that the total number of coronavirus cases were over 28000 out of which over 25000 are recoveries. The death toll as of July 21st was 153 and active cases were over 3000. The Accra has the largest percentage of coronavirus cases. Ashanti area has 6264, the Western region at 2310, the Central area had 1236 and the Eastern region had over 1000 cases.

July 19th Updates
During this day, a lot of things occurred. Reports were showing that the government is set to move away from its citizens from London. The footballers who had a hard time in Ethiopia arrived in Ghana. The head of the state underwent self-isolation where he tested negative for the coronavirus. The election body was also conducting an ongoing voter registration
The Coronavirus Encroaches the Health Sector
It is frightening when the virus has decided to affect the warriors of this battle. There are over 2000 health workers who have contracted the virus and more than 3 dying of it. Recently, Kenya was mourning for the death of Dr. Doreen who tested positive for the virus. however, there are over 1800 recoveries. The Accra region has the highest number of infections. The workers were demanding more protective gear which is of the highest standards. The country as of July 17th had done over 335000 tests.
Recoveries Hit a Higher Mark
During the 2nd week of this month, Ghana had recorded about 20000 recoveries. This shows that the country is experiencing one of the highest rates of recoveries.

The Chief Justice went into self-isolation to follow the WHO’s directives. On the other hand, workers of the Ministry of Finance work at home as they wait for the outcome of tests. Similarly, the Ghana Cocoa Board office closes after there was a case of infections. Other offices closed down due to coronavirus infections.
