Algeria Summons Emissary to France Over Public TV Documentaries
Algeria

Since the resigning of the Algeria president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the country faces recurring mass protests. The same marches forced the departure of the Algeria longtime president last year. One of the rallies showed people drinking alcohol and kissing.

According to reports, Algeria now evokes its France envoy following 2019 TV airing documentaries. They recalled the ambassador for interviews about the documentaries. Moreover, the show includes the rebels protest movement in the North African nation.

Algeria foreign ministry response

Indeed, the protest against the aired documents calls for the nation’s foreign ministry response. As of Thursday, the ministry statement captured several allegations. Meanwhile, it says the action seems reckless and a pretext undermining citizen’s freedom of expression. Besides, the ministry sees it as an attack against the community.

Furthermore, the statement takes the show as a battle against Algeria institution such as the National Armed Forces. It hurts for all Algeria citizens as Tuesday broadcast revealed malicious intentions at some point. Let’s face reality. Sure, this is what happens where there is no strong bonding between a country and its former colonial ruler. For example, as France intentions are out, and this opposes the good connecting between the two countries.

The show on France 5 TV revealed about five Algeria citizens said to be in their 20s. Notably, it broadcasts a couple kissing as well as people drinking liquor. Besides, activities are getting worse in the conservative Muslim country. Still, the nation endures constant conflicts between the modern social approaches and the traditional values.

Regional conflicts get to peak.

Now the massive conflicts in Algeria are on the peak. Consequently, it heats reviews on Algeria social media. Some of the analysts claim that the scene provides an unclear picture, especially for the pro-democracy movement. Besides, the second broadcast on the French channel is also about the protest movement.

However, on Thursday, the France foreign ministry says that all media takes pleasure in full editorial freedom guarded by the law in France. At the moment, Algeria stands 146 out of 180 states on journalists without borders. The 2020 word press freedom index ranks Norway the first and North Korea the last.  Furthermore, the statement reveals that France still values the need for the deep and old relations among the two nations. In other words, the France government says it fully respects Algeria’s freedom.

In April last year, the mass protests called for the surrender of the long term president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and his followers. Besides, the democratic movement looks forward for new leaders, especially those shadowed by the army since1962.

Conclusion

Indeed, it’s miserable to see this kind of fights between countries. In my opinion, this is not the time to fight but to support each other. It is important to remember that conflicts bring us depression, hostility and even mass killing. Let’s not destroy the connections between countries. Sure, there is always a way to solve a dispute and help each other.
