The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of an unidentified woman discovered inside a hotel room in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The woman’s body was found on Wednesday at a hotel along the Ore–Okitipupa Road. According to hotel staff, she checked in with a man earlier in the day, but the man later fled before the discovery.
A staff member, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case, told our correspondent that the pair arrived together before the woman was later found unresponsive.
“When a worker got to the room, the lady was seen lifeless on the bed, and the man could not be found. The staff immediately alerted others and reported the matter to the police,” the source said.
The hotel worker also noted that there were no visible injuries or signs of struggle in the room.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said detectives have begun efforts to track down the fleeing companion.
“Yes, the incident happened. An investigation has begun, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspect,” he said.
The woman’s body has since been deposited at a morgue within the community.
