Unexpected Fame: Overcoming the Fizzy Drink Addiction

The thought of a fizzy drink gives you the urge to get a refreshing moment, right? Fizzy drinks are trendy around the world, and the rate of consumption is very high due to their sweet taste, and don’t forget their refreshing feeling. However, they can be very addictive if taken frequently. They also come with health problems over the years if taken in high amounts. Most fizzy drink addicts struggle a lot to overcome their addiction, and most of them end up going back to their old habits.

Fizzy Drink Addiction.

Over the past 35 years, Rohit Roy form Melbourne has battled a fizzy drink addiction. Rohit is an Indian- Australian man aged 41 years old. He had been drinking two to three fizzy cans in a day. Two to three cans may not seem a lot; however, for 35 years, it is a lot of intake. He was addicted to any sort of fizzy drink, so he would pick any fizzy drink from the store and pop it for glass.

Rohit attempted to stop the habit but failed several times. He, therefore, resolved to start a journey where he documented it on Tik Tok. He was positive about the help and support he would get from Tik Tok.

Rohit is now known as the ‘No Fizzy Drink’ guy. He started his TikTok account without expecting any fame; however, most people poured him so much support. Documenting himself giving up fizzy drinks on Tik Tok has gone viral. He started recording his journey from hours, weeks to months.

“Hello guys, it been almost 24 hours now, and I haven’t had any fizzy drink whatsoever,” Rohit said.

Overcoming Addiction: Accountability.    

The primary motivation behind it him starting his account was he wanted to get rid of his addiction. He was positive about the support, plus he wanted to have people who would hold him accountable. Rohit’s video started gaining popularity, and he is almost hitting 4 million likes on TikTok and a legion of supportive fans.

“I expected some response; that’s why I put the video in the first place, but I didn’t expect it to be this huge,” says Rohit.

He feels fortunate that most people started liking his videos while others were giving him immense support throughout the journey. Rohit enjoys interacting with his supporters. In the comment section, many people make their contributions, while others ask a lot of questions. Rohit tries as much as possible to answer most of the questions while focusing mostly on the comments that are inspiring and motivating. He now inspires most of his fans, and Rohit feels accountable to all of them, and he assures that he won’t break their trust.

Celebrating Achievement.

People recognize him and take photos of him. However, the more they are happy to meet his, he is delighted to meet them too. Rohit is appreciative of the support, and he would like to thank his supporters in person when given a chance. His journey continues as he marks his days to recovery.

“Today is a very big day for me because I equaled my personal best of 45 days,” said Rohit.

To him, it is like a dream come true, and he gives all the credit to his fans for their love and support. The difference with this journey of recovery is that the support of his fans is far much more substantial than the frizzy drink craving. Therefore, he is positive that he will be successful this time.

Rohit’s next goal is to reach 100 days fizzy drink free. His fight is not against any fizzy drink or any brand but is merely against his addiction.

“We are stronger than we think, and If I can do it, you can do it too. Overall, no fizzy drink in 67 days, thank you all.”
