Sudan political accord postponed until April 6.

On April 6, a civilian administration will be named in Sudan, and a new transition toward elections will commence. According to a representative for the negotiating process who stated on Saturday. He said that the signing of an agreement to this effect has been postponed until that date.

Khalid Omar Yousif stated on Twitter that military and civilian parties had agreed to “redouble efforts”.  They aim to overcome the remaining impediment within a few days and clear the way for the signature of the final political accord on April 6.” The parties, according to Khalid Omar Yousif, have agreed to “redouble their efforts to overcome the remaining obstacle within a few days.”

Yousif stated earlier in the day that the signing of the agreement would be delayed. Mainly because “unanimity on certain remaining matters” was lacking. Saturday had been scheduled as the day for the signing of the agreement.

Last week, disagreements erupted over the timeline for merging the powerful paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) into the military, a step called for in a December framework agreement for the new transition.
