It is a sad atmosphere in Khorogo in northern Ivory Coast as the late Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly body arrives home. The former prime minister body aboard an armed forces plane for burial in his hometown.
The public had an opportunity to view the body of the late prime minister and then the procession lead to his residence.
The president Alassane Ouattara, accompanied by Senegalese President Macky Sall led Ivory Coast citizens in paying their tribute to the deceased. Top leaders described him as a great leader who had a bright future for the country.
“He presented the future of the presidency of Ivory Coast. We know that there is confidence in him and had a lot of control of power over the Ivorian people. He could stay the course,”
Fatoumata Fofana, a student, describes the passionality and the great person the country will ever miss forever.
The citizens describes the deceased as a great leader who had greater responsibility in leading the country to greatness. Many trusted him because of his great history of good leadership.
“We are sad, it’s okay, we’ll keep fighting for him”
Fatoumata Abdoulaye, a cashier said.
Early this year, Amadou Gon Coulibaly was nominated as a presidential candidate by President Alassane Ouattara. Leading the president’s RHDP party for forth coming October presidential election.
This position put an end to many months of political rumor about President Ouattara’s candidacy in the long awaited general election. The gap which Coulibaly has left will turn the tables. However, the president will announce the way forward for his RHDP party.
