South African actor Mpho Sebeng dies: After the unfortunate death of actress Mpho Seben, South Africa is in a state of mourning. A automobile accident in Potchefstroom, North West province, claimed the life of the actor on Sunday, according to his family.

After a career spanning almost two decades, Sebeng was already a revered figure in South Africa’s entertainment scene by the age of thirty. Sebeng started acting when he was 12 years old and rose to fame on television shortly after, earning rave reviews for his outstanding performances.

His most famous roles were in critically praised television dramas, including “Justice For All” and “Zero Tolerance,” for which he won multiple accolades. Even while still a high school student, Sebeng showed off his acting chops in the 2011 biopic “Winnie,” which was based on the life of the late Winnie Mandela.

At the 2018 South African Film and Television Awards, he was nominated for Best Male Actor in a Telenovela, further acknowledging his achievements in the industry. International audiences were introduced to Sebeng’s skills through her roles in Netflix originals such as “Savage Beauty” and “Miseducation.”

Many of Sebeng’s friends and coworkers were shocked to hear of his death. Actress Zola Hashatsi expressed her condolences, highlighting the importance of Sebeng as a beloved colleague and friend whose absence will be greatly felt.

Joining in the sympathies, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and Netflix South Africa paid tribute to Sebeng’s lasting influence on the entertainment business and said goodbye to a talent whose legacy would live on.
