Egypt published on the National team website about the new coach. The former coach resigned after serving Egypt for a long time. On Thursday, Carlos Quieroz was seen in the national football field.
At that moment, all the fans were very happy about him. Carlos has been a winner for his most recent clubs and team. He is a Portuguese citizen with experience in training various nations. One of the top international teams he ever taught was Colombia, which has managed to appear in major competitions like the world cup.
Carlos is 67 years of age with almost 20 years of experience in coaching. He once led Iran for almost 3 years before resigning. The Portuguese was once a national player as well as the team captain. All this earned him a job as the Egypt national team head coach.
Egypt has one of the best national football teams in Africa. It has managed to qualify for almost all the world cups from 2006. It went ahead and won a few matches in the 2018 World Cup, but got eliminated before making it to the quarter-finals. The country brags about top names like Muhammed Salah, who has appeared among the top 10 best players in the world. He plays for Liverpool, an English club.
On Thursday, Quiroz was interviewed by the Egyptian Football Club. He promised to make the fans happy in all the matches. Carlos said he will dedicate all his energy, effort, and hard work to the players to make sure they achieve their goals. The head coach is very determined about making some changes both inside and outside the pitch.
The national team will play against Libya in the world cup qualifiers in October. Everyone is eager to see how the country will perform. But the match has no weight to the people of Egypt because they are ahead of the table, with more points than their runners up. But that doesn’t mean they sit back and relax, they will have to compete to save their chances in world cup position.
Quieroz continued that he will be committed to the team. He will make every player better. The coach said he will try to include young talents in the squad to make sure they gain experience while young. The team must be a mixture of experienced and unexperienced people so that young boys can learn from their elders.
Despite Egypt having all their first eleven team playing in Europe, the coach said even the local talents must be appreciated. There is need to focus on uplifting local players. He praised the local teams from Egypt league for making sure they showed their best results in every match. Egypt league is very competitive and one has to play hard in all matches in order to lift the cup.
Quieroz has to make sure Egypt qualifies and win the African cup of nation next year. The country lost the title in the last competition despite being hosting the competitions. Algeria managed to lift the title as Senegal finished second. He has to plan on how he will embrace the fans and the management who have offered him the job.
