Controversial Priest ‘Solomon Killed Goliath’ Apologizes, Denies Receiving Money During Sugoi Visit

[post_slider]

It is certainly one of the most unlikely statements that can come from a priest. Especially if he happens to quote the bible wrongly. The media caught the head of the Holy Ghost Coptic church in Kisumu, Father John Pesa explaining how king Solomon defeated Goliath. This happened during his visit to Deputy President William Ruto’s home in Sugoi. In his defense, the priest asserted that he had become of age and it was just a slip of the tongue. He further condemned the accusation stating that people thrive in such minor issues. Man is to error.

The priest says his life is at stake

Ever since he made his visit to the deputy president’s home, Father John has known no peace. He claims that he has been receiving life-threatening messages and calls too. Apparently, his visit to Ruto’s home has stirred up some controversy over his life. Those in pursuit of his life extended their visit to the priests’ local church on Tuesday, at Kisumu-Kakamega road. He has since reported the matter to Kondele police station in Kisumu.

Controversy over receiving money from the Deputy president

The main reason causing all these threats to the priests’ life is because of the rising allegations that he received some amount of money from the DP. It is the money they are really after and have proven to go to greater lengths as taking his life to get hold of it. However, the priest is confident to speak that he did not receive any amount of money from his visit to Ruto’s home.

In a statement recorded by Taifa Leo, the priest admitted to having received a sum of money amounting to 10,000 shillings. This amount was to cover for the sermon he performed during the visit. Moreover, 6,000 of the amount was spent to fuel the car that was used to transport him to Ruto’s residence. If anything, he received less than what other bishops in the same event received.

Ruto’s Remarks

During the service, Ruto was seen quoting from the Bible verse on friendship and unity. Amos 3:3. The verse says, ‘Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?’ although many may take it as a normal verse, to the vice president it isn’t. In fact, people speculate that the verse might highlight the current relationship between him and the president. The Deputy President’s race for the 2022 presidency is in part with the president. His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta claims that the early campaigns are disrupting his development Agenda for the country.
