According to prison officials, ex-South African President Jacob Zuma, who was recently imprisoned for contempt of court, has been given compassionate leave for one day to attend his younger brother’s burial on today, Thursday. Zuma was imprisoned in Estcourt jail since July 7, when he surrendered to police to complete a 15-month term. The prison is near his rural home in the Kwa-Zulu Natal region of Nkandla, where burial services are likely to occur.
