All Eyes on the Worldwide Peace through Music Event

The Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 Facebook event will see over 100 performing artists drawn from every part of the world come together in one platform, for one cause, Social Justice. The event will be a fundraising drive to celebrate the United Nations’ 75th anniversary. All eyes on worldwide peace through music event.

The occasion will also double up as Facebook’s essential program for GivingTeusday, a global generosity movement unleashing people and organizations’ power to transform their communities and the world.

Performances

The performing artists come from various countries, including the US, UK, Colombia, Brazil, France, Italy, Philippines, Australia, India, Pakistan, Australia, Argentina, Japan, Venezuela, Netherlands, Portugal, Mexico, Haiti, Uruguay, Jamaica, and the Kingdom Of Bahrain.

Artists from South Africa, Senegal, Congo, Ghana, and Mali will represent the African continent.

Among the show, headliners include Aloe Blacc, Skip and Cardella Marley, Billie Eilish, Killer Mike, South African Zulu Choir, and Ellie Goulding.

Peace and Justice

The virtual event will be a collaboration between Playing For Change, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and Blackbird Presents, which seeks to inspire people to act for peace and justice everywhere for everyone.

On their official website, the event organizers say the event will lobby for Peace through Music, which will call for racial justice, equality, and an end to discrimination, spotlighting people of African descent and championing the full protection and promotion of all human rights.

Unity

“It will embody the unity and common purpose that beat in the heart of humanity,” states the website publication.

The website’s FAQs states that the COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us in the most powerful way that we are closely interconnected and only as strong as our weakest link. Only by working together and in solidarity can we end the pandemic and build resilience against future pandemics and other global challenges.

All donations and contributions from corporate partners will be directed to support the United Nations Population fund, the Playing For Change Foundation, the United Nations Remember Slavery Programme, and other worldwide organizations focusing on poverty eradication, inequality, systemic, racial, and gender discrimination. Such organizations include the Bob Marley Foundation, Sankofa, The Rock & Roll Hall OF Fame Foundation, and Silkroad.
