A Dark Moment In David Rudisha’s Career

David Rudisha was born on December 17th, 1988. He is a Kenyan by nationality. Professionally, he is a competitor in the world of athletics. The athlete has won several awards during his career time. To begin with 2012 and 2016 he won the champions award. He was also a world champion in 2015 and 2011 and has a record title in 800 meters race. Throughout his career, he made history by running for 101 seconds in a racing event.

Besides, Lekuta has a world title in the 500 meters race by running under 60 seconds. He holds the African record title of 600 meters race by running under 75 seconds. We see Rudisha’s more glory when he wins the Track and Field Athlete of the Year award and IAAF World Athlete of the Year.

The Personal Life Of David Rudisha

David Rudisha belongs to the community of the Maasai in Kenya, a country made up of 70 ethnic groups as of 2020. His father was called Daniel Rudisha and his mother Naomi. Daniel Rudisha was also a runner and he won the 2nd position at the Olympics in 1968. His mother, Naomi, was a 400 meters hurdler. David is married to a woman called Lizzy Naanyu and has 2 daughters. In 2019, Rudisha had an accident and medical workers attended to him and took him to the hospital. Luckily, during the collision, David Rudisha did not experience any kind of injuries.

David Rudisha’s Career

David Rudisha participated in World Athletics Championship in 2009 and reached semifinals in the 800m competition. During the same year, Rudisha won the IAAF Grand Prix putting a new record and beating the record that lasted over 2 decades. During the IAAF Diamond League in 2010, he challenged Abubaker Kaki at Bislett Games. On 10th July the same year, David competed in the 800 meters race and ran under 2 minutes at the KBC Night of Athletics.

During the next month in 2010, Lekuta set a new record defeating the record of Wilson Kipketer in the 800m races. Less than 2 weeks after, he broke his record running with a time of 1 minute and 41 seconds. After about 3 months later, David Rudisha won the Kenyan Sportsman of the year. Moreover, the 21-year old athlete won the IAAF World Athlete of the Year. Currently, David Lekuta has the world title for the 800 meters event.

David Rudisha Undergoes A Surgery

Michel Boeting, David’s sports manager, informed the media of Rudisha’s ankle injury

“During a walk on the compound, David Rudisha stepped on a jagged ground and initially believed it was not a serious injury. Rudisha continued with exercises that would not result in further harm to his ankle. However, after a lack of improvement over the weekend, he underwent an examination and a doctor diagnosed him with an ankle fracture.”

Surgeon Victor Bargoria with the help of Kenyan doctors is in-charge of Rudisha’s ankle surgery. Rudisha prays and hopes that he may continue competing in 2021 since he cannot compete this year due to the surgery. Indeed, all good things in this life come with hard work, sweat, and blood.
