NNPC Reassures Consumers: 30-Day Petrol Sufficiency Ensured as Supply Improves

NNPC Limited has assured consumers that there’s an ample supply of petrol in stock, sufficient to last for the next 30 days, easing concerns over potential shortages. Notably, queues at filling stations in Abuja and its environs have significantly dwindled, except at NNPC Retail outlets, where petrol is retailed at a lower price than others.

While NNPC outlets steadfastly maintain a price of N617 per liter, other stations, such as NIPCO and AYM Shafa, have adjusted and increased their pump prices. Despite these minor fluctuations, the overall supply situation is improving nationwide.

Mr. Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Limited, has affirmed that the company presently boasts over 1.5 billion liters of petrol in stock, equivalent to more than 30 days of sufficiency. Soneye has urged motorists to resist the temptation of panic buying, emphasizing the ongoing enhancement of the supply chain, which is anticipated to continue in the coming days.

Moreover, Soneye emphasized NNPC Limited’s collaborative efforts with relevant downstream agencies, including the Nigerian Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labor unions operating within the sector, and security operatives. These concerted actions aim to address various issues, such as hoarding and other undesirable practices that might disrupt the smooth flow of petrol distribution.

NNPC Limited’s statement provides a reassuring message to consumers, easing fears of potential fuel scarcity and promoting confidence in the availability of petrol across the country. This proactive approach underscores the company’s commitment to ensuring stability and reliability in supplying essential petroleum products.

Furthermore, the disappearance of long queues at filling stations in major cities like Abuja and Lagos is a positive indication of the improving supply situation. Such developments indicate a gradual return to normalcy in the distribution and availability of petrol, thereby reducing inconvenience for motorists and commuters alike.

It’s noteworthy that while NNPC Retail outlets continue to play a pivotal role in providing petrol at an affordable price, other stations operated by major marketers have adjusted their prices to reflect prevailing market conditions. Despite these adjustments, the assurance of adequate petrol supply from NNPC Limited is a beacon of hope for consumers and stakeholders in the petroleum industry.

In conclusion, NNPC Limited’s proactive measures, coupled with its robust supply chain management, are instrumental in ensuring a steady and uninterrupted supply of petrol across Nigeria. As the company continues collaborating with relevant stakeholders, it reinforces its commitment to addressing challenges and maintaining the seamless distribution of essential petroleum products nationwide.
