Medikal’s London O2 Concert Draws Huge Crowds from Ghanaian Diaspora
Ghana’s vibrant music scene took center stage in London as the country’s top musical talents captivated a sold-out audience at the O2’s Indigo venue.
Leading the lineup was Medikal, the renowned rap sensation whose real name is Samuel Adu Frimpon. Hailed as one of Africa’s foremost rap artists, Medikal commanded the stage with his electrifying performance, thrilling fans who had eagerly packed the venue.
Many Ghanaians were in the audience, ecstatic to witness their nation’s finest musical exports in action. Notable personalities such as digital creator BlacVolta, broadcaster Jay Foley, and YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon journeyed from Ghana to attend the show, underscoring the event’s significance within the Ghanaian community.
Adding to the star-studded affair was the presence of Mohammed Kudus, the celebrated footballer from Ghana’s national team who currently plays for West Ham United in the Premier League. Kudus, along with other luminaries, contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the evening.

The enchanting vocalist Efya stole the spotlight as fans showered her with money, a customary gesture of appreciation at Afrobeats concerts. This showcased her undeniable talent and earned her adoration from the audience.
Before Shatta Wale took to the stage, Medikal paid a heartfelt tribute to his friend and mentor, recounting anecdotes of support and guidance that resonated deeply with the crowd.
