Tinubu’s Homecoming: Presidency Confirms Arrival Today
The Presidency has officially confirmed that President Bola Tinubu and his entourage will return to Nigeria from Europe today. This announcement comes after over two weeks of international engagements, starting with a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, then attending a special World Economic Forum (WEF) in Saudi Arabia and subsequent travel to Europe.
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, posted the news on his social media handle, indicating President Tinubu’s imminent return along with his aides.
Tinubu’s journey began on April 22 when he departed from Abuja for an official visit to the Kingdom of The Netherlands. The purpose of this visit, as stated by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, was upon the invitation of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Following his engagements in The Netherlands, President Tinubu proceeded to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in a special World Economic Forum meeting held between April 28 and 29. While expectations were high for his prompt return after the forum, his prolonged absence led to speculations about his whereabouts.
Reports suggested that President Tinubu had traveled to London from Saudi Arabia for a private visit before visiting France, another European destination. However, these reports remained unconfirmed until the recent announcement by the Presidency regarding his return to Nigeria.
The delay in President Tinubu’s return sparked various speculations, but this official confirmation clarifies his travel itinerary and imminent arrival back in the country.
