The Ever Provided was allegedly streamlined and released as a massive container ship stuck across the Suez Canal for almost a week.
The video seemed to show the ship floating, but later his owner told AFP he was just “turned.”
The Ever Given has blocked one of the busiest trading routes in the world: the Suez Canal.
On the Canal, every day, an estimated $9.6 billion (£7 billion) of merchandise was stored.
Inchcape Maritime Services corporation said the ship was released from the coastline earlier.
Reports of the release lifted the expectations of resumption of traffic via the canal within hours.
The Suez Canal Authority explains that the path of the container ship is 80% corrected. It added that efforts had started to fully refloat.
The authority said that the traffic would continue after the ship was transferred to a waiting place.
On Tuesday morning, the 200,000 ton Ever Provided struck with high winds and a storm of sand, which affected the visibility. In order to help refloat the boats, specialized rescue firms were called in.
In order to lighten the load on Sunday, canal officials started planning to clear some of the approximately 20,000 containers on board.
Approximately 12 percent of global trade passes the Suez Channel, a 193-km long strip that connects Asia and Europe to the Red Sea.
An alternate route will take two weeks to get around the Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of Africa.
