South Africans petitions for Multichoice to discount its prices, as it did in other countries in Africa. Also, DStv made a price cut during the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver more home entertainment and to save costs for its customers.
“DSTV reduces the prices for other Africa nations like Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Ghana except South Africa. We’re being taken for granted in South Africa and DStv must produce a solution to this #DstvMustFall,” says Sifiso Gwala, the person behind the price-cut-campaign.
Discounts
Recently,Multichoice Nigeria announced that it will offer GOtv and DStv customers’ adequate discounts ranging from 44% to 74% respectively. This is in a bid to ease the effect of COVID-19 in the country. CCO of Multichoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho, told The Eagle that the discounts are a way of thanking their customers for their loyalty.
“The discounts are in conjunction with MultiChoice’s mission to provide quality content and a chance for valued and loyal customers to experience a wider range of content.”
In addition, this initiative is great for its subscriber around the world; on the other hand, DStv South Africa is yet to deliver such an offer to its customers. The company has not decided how it plans to deliver such an offer. According to reports done by EWN, local customers desperately need assistance in their viewing offer. “Prices are too high, [we] can’t afford it”, “and we must choose the channels we want”.
