Nigeria Suspends 2,000 Passports Over Covid Breaches

[post_slider]

Almost 2000 people have their passports suspended in Nigeria after they failed to abide by the covid-19 vaccine protocols. The citizens are just fresh from abroad, and they were to be isolated.

Dr. Mukhtar Mohammed, the National Covid-19 Manager from the statehouse spoke out about the matter. He said the passports will stay under arrest for another 1 year before they make their final decisions. Mohammed said that during an interview with reporters.

The doctors working with the covid-19 research admitted that the Nigeria should be ready for the third wave of Covid-19. The virus keeps on mutating as it adapts the conditions. There is no proof that the manufactured vaccines will serve as 100% protection over the spread of the virus. But any person either visiting or going out of the country must be vaccinated against the covid19.

The presidential steering chief Mohammed confirmed that there are maximum CCTV surveillance cameras in the airport. There work is to ensure there is no entry without quarantine and vaccination. Not only in the airport but also, in the land borders and seaports. All travelers have to go by the government and the WHO rules. Any person found violating the protocol will directly be penalized, just like the suspended passports.

Those travelers from abroad countries, specifically those with high cases of covid19, must be inspected strictly. Some of them have tried running away from isolation, which is the first recommendation. They should isolate themselves to keep their family members and relatives in safe hands. Its mandatory to be away for 14 days before taking the last test, if found negative then you go to your respective homes.

Mohammed continued and praised the security team for playing a good role. He also appreciated the doctors for ensuring the test were legit. There have been cases where the travelers will come to the country with forged certificate from other countries showing they had been tested. The national government said everyone, either tested or not will have to pass through their test as he/she lands in the country. Even drivers and those carrying imported goods will pass through the same process.

Turkey, India, South Africa, and Brazil are the risk countries to take note of. People from those nations have to pass through compulsory 2 weeks quarantine in the government approved locations. The state promised to provide everything, including the basic needs facilities to use. Doctors issued a report on variant viruses from various countries that requires maximum care. They are imposing this to break down the chain of spreading the disease.

The head army officers allocated to chair the Covid-19 category has complained over the defilement of some Nigerians. He warned that such practices is a risk to the whole nation. We have a group that would decide to self-isolate and come back for a 7-day test. Its sad because we have a number that tested positive, which means all their family members have to go in quarantine also. The names of those who defiled the law and their passport have been taken.
