Nigeria buys airplane radar system

RPA-200MC mobile 3D primary radars have been purchased by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The purchase was made by the Ministry of Aviation.

According to Defense News Nigeria, the very first of the nine main radars that were purchased landed in the nation late on Friday night.

The radar will guarantee that any aircraft, friendly or otherwise, flying through Nigerian airspace are spotted as quickly as possible.

The long-range variant of the RPA-2403D mid-range air defense mobile radar served as the inspiration for its development in Argentina.

The technology is able to identify objects traveling at low speeds and at low altitudes. It has applications in national defense, as well as in the regulation of civil aviation traffic and border control.

The main three-dimensional radar that was provided by INVAP is the first item of its type to be exported from Argentina to any nation in Africa.
