Newlywed couple drowns. A newlywed couple in Manhattan drowned while they were on Honeymoon in the Caribbean. The accident occurred four days after they tied the knot. They are Muhammad Malik, 35, and Dr. Noor Shah.
Malik was a corporate attorney, while Noor was a surgical resident at NYU Langone Health. She loved going to concerts, cooking, and running. According to family members, they were on honeymoon at a Turks and Caicos Islands resort.
Newlywed Couple Drown: Shock Beyond Belief
“It’s a devastating loss,” Malik’s father said to a newspaper. “This is shock beyond belief. It’s a tragedy to lay two children to rest in a joint funeral.” The couple had been swimming at the chest-high water level at the resort. While swimming, they were overcome by strong offshore currents. The father of the groom berated the resort because they didn’t have proper signs to warn swimmers that there was a possibility of such strong winds.
Mohammed Malik and Noor Shah were seen in exotic garb, holding hands tenderly at their nuptials. They beamed for a set of photos just days before the incident in the Turks and Caicos.
Almost Perfect Honeymoon
“My brother was deeply in love with her. He always glowed when he was with her. He glowed on the day of his wedding,” a crestfallen Ahmad Malik said.
“It was the happiest day of our lives four days earlier when we got wedded at the Carltun in Eisenhower Park.”
In his account, Maqbool Malik said that it only occurred to him something bad had happened after he picked his phone and heard his wife crying. The Newlywed couple drowned in a tragic accident. Salman Malik, 41, said his younger brother and Noor met through some friends and planned to move to a place in Kips Bay.
“It’s a tragedy by all means. He was vibrant in all he did.” Salman Malik said. “Noor was all to him. She was the princess who became his queen. Newlywed couple drowns. Even in this Covid pandemic, he found the best place he could possibly travel to with all the restrictions.”
Inseparable in Death
Ahmad Malik agreed, “Noor and Mohammed together were just magnetic and brought joy to all around them. They were always glowing. Though it is sad they’re not with us anymore, we are happy they spent their last moments together.”
Maqbool Malik said of his son and daughter-in-law:
“They had a great relationship with each other, and loved each other. It was a love story that ended very fast.”
