Morocco Hosts Consultations between Lybia’s Rival Factions

[post_slider]

Rabat, the capital city of Morocco hosted two political boards from Libya. The two boards are in dispute over the elections. The electoral board in the Libyan state has had some issues concerning being biased. But the matter was to be solved using the best mediators.

The meeting will be long enough and solutions will have to be implemented. Libya’s citizens will vote on December 24th, 2021. The legislative and presidential elections will take place on the same day. Some residents are not happy as it will interfere with their Christmas celebrations. But the national government has the power to implement any rule without much consultation.

The US ambassador to Libya was among the top officials fighting for peace. He urged the two nations to stick together and play their roles. The ambassador listened to all the boards. Without being biased, he said, the matter would get the best solutions in court.

Richard Noland said the campaigns has to start immediately after the meeting ends. One or two weeks after the Rabat meeting, the politicians should be ready with their agendas. There is no need to judge other people’s agendas. He urged the politicians to do their campaigns in peaceful environments. On most occasions, you will find politicians speaking ill of others, which brings enmity among them. The final person who usually suffers is the common citizen.

The US ambassador said the two boards have gone to Rabat to discuss several issues, including the constitution and legal news. The nation must have a strong political pillar that makes sure the residents are living in peace and harmony. They must put the citizens as their first priority.

Violence has prevailed in the oil-producing country since the death of Muammar Gaddafi. He was one of the strongest and most prominent in the world. Gaddafi wanted to transform Africa to be served under one leadership, just like the United States. However, he had many scandals with some organizations which led to his death. HE strengthened the economy of his country. Muammar had good relations with the European developed countries. Trade was his main foreign exchange source.

Since 2011, there have been frequent fights due to the scramble for top political seats. Everyone wants to be the head of the state even without following the correct protocols.

The western part of the country has its leaders, whom they want in the state house. Similarly, the eastern part has their team too. These two sides are pulling and pushing each other. Tribalism boils up every year. This aspect of unity was never part of being a Libyan citizen.

Other external organizations have tried to bring peace across the country. There have been many meetings with both leaders from the east and west. But in the end, nothing large changes. The rival has made the Libyan election look like hell zones. Citizens are never at peace during those moments. But they have promised to vote for a person with ambitions. It is through a fair election that we find good leaders. Let us work towards unity.
