More Than 10 People Died in Somalia Minibus Blast

The information minister said while addressing the Nation that at least 10 individuals died on the spot. Twelve of them injured when an explosive device ripped through a minibus in Mogadishu on Sunday.

The deadly explosion took place during the day, along with Lafole village around Afgoye-Mogadishu.

The information ministry said that at least 10 civilians were killed in the explosion which occurred around the Lafole area in the morning on that Sunday. After investigations, the information minister made it clear to the citizens that the individuals on-board were on their way to a funeral.

The on-lookers said that it destroyed the minibus. It left many dead, and some burned beyond recognition. Those who survived the Odile were seriously wounded.

Daud Doyow, a witness at the scene, said that the incident that took place on Sunday morning. It happened as the bus was passing by the area and destroyed it beyond recognition.

Abdirisak Adan, a witness, confirmed that there were over 20 people who boarded the bus with ten confirmed dead and the rest wounded and rushed to the hospital.

As of now, there is no terrorism group claiming to have done the act. However, it is believed that it might be the responsibility of Al Qaeda-aligned Shabaab. They carry out the regular attack around the capital with the primary aim of killing civilians.
