Kenyan Police Robbed Bribe Money by Daring Criminals.

[post_slider]

Kenyan police are well known for taking bribes. Popularly is known as”chai” or “kitu kidogo” in the common man’s or street language. The Kenyan traffic police are rigorous at doing this unacceptable act. Despite the government and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) measures to deal with this misconduct, the traffic police are still at it. Many cases of the traffic police being involved in bribery have been reported.

Warnings from EACC.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on the previous bribery case that took place in Kisumu on the 20th November 2019, acted promptly on the Case involving the traffic officers who were busted taking bribes in Kisumu. This was meant to serve as an example to those who involve themselves in this unacceptable act, especially the police who was ranked as one of the most corrupt institutions in Kenya. On the 12th of February 2020, some brave thieves robbed the traffic police all the bribe money they had collected and run away to the nearby bushes.

The bizarre incident where Kenyan police were robed.

So even after vigorous efforts of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to fight this unpleasant behavior. Traffic officers at the Nairobi-Meru highway on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, were at their usual “business” when one brave robber emerged from a nearby bush and robbed the police all the money they had extorted from the motorists on that day.

An eye witness reported that during this hilarious as well as misdeed act, there were two officers of the opposite gender at the scene. The male officer attempted in vain to catch the thief, but seemingly he had mastered the terrain perfectly. The thief is reported to have disappeared up a steep slope adjacent to the road, while the onlookers were left to enjoy the scenes during the drama.

This occurrence has left different reactions from Kenyans on social media. Some expressing the act as funny and commendable. To others, it was their joy for them. They claim that the traffic police who involved themselves in this misconduct has gotten a taste of their own medicine.

Previous cases where they have been receiving bribes

There have been many cases of the Kenyan traffic police collecting bribe from Kenyan motorists. It has been a matter of concern to the government. Also Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)for a very long time. Many traffic police have been caught by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) conducting this unacceptable act . The immediate action taken against them is to face the law

In November last year along the Kisumu -Kakamega highway, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)disrupted the act. As a result, three policemen were arrested in the act.

Cameras have been installed along the highways as this could also help in tracking any misconduct on the road.

Some of the malicious acts have already been pointed. This is after a close watch out by The officials from the public watchdog. Strong measures have been currently taken to deal with this corrupt act.
