A small country in Eastern Africa, Kenya will reopen its full economy in December. These are some trending rumors. It will depend on the number of Covid-19 cases. Almost a quarter of the country has gotten the vaccine and the process is still on.
In 2020, the country’s economy went down by 0.3% due to the pandemic. The Bureau of Statistics showed how half of the population lost their jobs as other businesses closed down. The major problem Kenya is experiencing is the unemployment rate of youths.
Lecturer at Kibabi University, Dr. Catherine Laura Mamula, spoke about the restrictive measures imposed in the country. By now, almost 60% of the business are running normally. But some are tied to restrictive measures of the Covid-19. A quarter of the businesses carried out at night are not running because the country has imposed a 10:00 pm curfew until 4:00 am.
As per the jobs available in the nation, 17% of them are from formal sectors including the government and non-governmental organizations. 83% come from informal sectors. It was during the pandemic that people came up with new ideas.

Despite being hit by the Covid-19, the country is at an upper hand to evolve its economy. The dropdown has been restored. President Mr. Muigai Uhuru Kenyatta has promised to pump money into various projects to boost the economy. The transport sector has gained the biggest share while distributing funds.
All the schools have re-opened, and few cases are being reported. However, the president decided to carry forward the night curfew for another 60 days to protect its citizen. The virus is said to transmit faster at night, hence the evolution of night curfew measure. Some people are already tired putting on the masks. But they have to because it is going to be the norm unless there is total completion of the virus.
