Kaka, David Villa, and Drogba Shine in Qatar Charity Match
Fresh from its role as the host venue for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium showcased another remarkable event – the ‘Match for Hope’ charity football match held on Friday.
Organized by Q Life, a cultural platform operating under the International Media Office (IMO), in collaboration with Education Above All (EAA) and the Qatar Football Association (QFA), the event aimed to champion a charitable cause by raising funds for education projects in six countries: Palestine, Sudan, Mali, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Pakistan.
The tournament drew attention not only for its charitable purpose but also for the engagement of social media sensations Chunkz and AboFlah, who captained their respective teams, attracting fans from across the region.
What added to the spectacle was the participation of football legends such as Roberto Carlos, Ricardo Kaka, Claude Makelele, Didier Drogba, David Villa, and Eden Hazard. The match featured star-studded lineups, with managers Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger guiding their teams through an entertaining contest.

The charitable efforts yielded impressive results, with the initiative successfully raising more than $8.85 million.
