Jack Ma, Alibaba Send Medical Supplies to Africa

Jack Ma and Alibaba foundations have sent the third round of medical supplies to Africa. The medical equipment was a donation from the foundation. For this reason, The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention received the donation. The donation is to help in the fight against coronavirus.

Hence, the most recent batch of the donation showed up in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa late Monday through an Ethiopian Airlines payload flight.

However, the donation is supposed to come in more bunches in the coming days. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expressed his gratitude to the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba on Twitter for ‘continuing to show solidarity with Africa.’

“As members of the global community, it would be irresponsible for us to sit on the fence, panic, ignore facts, or fail to act. We need to take action now,” said Jack Ma.

Meanwhile, the Jack Ma Foundation is also collaborating with Africa CDC. This is to hold a special webinar entitled ‘Global MediXChange for Combating Covid-19 (GMCC): The Experience of China’ on April 28.

A platform for information sharing on COVID-19

The GMCC platform was inaugurated in March to encourage open information sharing and online correspondence to battle Covid-19.
