According to a TV footage by Reuters,15 men pretended to be election workers during the election in Nigeria. This occurred at a polling station in the Alimosho district of Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday. The hoodlums attacked party officials with knives and guns. Hereby, forcing the military to step in.
“The hooligans immediately came in with daggers. They beat up anybody who was a Labor party agent,” claimed party constituency secretary Jacob Sulemain after the troops repelled the attack.
Since the military dictatorship ended in 1999, two parties have alternated in power. Thus, making the presidential race the closest in Nigeria’s history. A candidate from a minor young-voter-friendly party will also contest the two main parties’ nominees.
