Gambia Multi-million Dollars Conference Hall Named after The Late Sir Dawda Jawara

. The Gambian government has named a new conference facility after the former president, Sir Dawda Jawara. The Gambia is taking this step in remembrance of the ex-president.

The Gambia First President

Jawara, Gambia’s first president, died the final year. Therefore, President Adama barrow named after the thousand-seater multi-purpose facility placed in Bijilo, a suburb of the capital Banjul. It’s located inside the Bijilo national park. Many know it has a “monkey park.”  The Ceremony came about on January 12, 2020.

“I am delighted to have inaugurated the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo. They prioritized its construction as a pre-requisite for hosting the 2022 Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, Summit in Banjul,” the president said adding that the facility was “one of its kind in the region.”

The facility becomes constructed as part of “china aid” to the united states. The complete facility which overlooks the ocean sits on a place of 14, 000 meters squared. It’s far made up of a giant United Country Assembly–themed conference corridor, which seats a thousand people at a time. The president added that he becomes hopeful that it’ll appeal to / host meetings, incentive travels, conventions, conferences, and exhibitions. The conference will benefit the country in as much as to the world.

The Conference Hall

The OIC’S African Contingents

The Gambia is one of the members of the OIC. It is to host the organization’s subsequent summit in two years.
