As a battle broke out between Fulani and Hausa locals, the situation in the Sokoto state hamlet of Gwadabawa became tense.
Multiple inhabitants on both sides, as well as a security officer, perished as a consequence.
Aminu Gwadabawa, a local authority, stated in an interview with VOA Hausa, “People in the region were living in fear, as a soldier was killed by the violence.”
They fear that the Fulani rebels will retaliate with their own attacks.
The following are quotes from the survivors.
The Fulani allegedly attacked a relative of the survivor with blades. Despite this, no physical weapon could ever damage him due to the preternatural forces operating within his body.
They escalated their assault on him, ultimately severing his cranium from his body.
A Fulani man, another survivor of the community violence, also relayed his story.
“I survived being fired at twice,” he said. I implored for my life to be spared. They opened fire on me, however.
When questioned about the incident, Sokoto police told VOA Hausa that they had not yet received specifics.
Allegedly, several individuals were slain and maimed during the conflict.
Attacks, attributed to Fulani militants, have become commonplace in the region recently.
Bandits purportedly attacked communities in Rabah and other regions of the Northwest state.
