Death toll rises to 33 in George building
WERNER HILLS

Tragically, 13 persons have been confirmed dead, and 19 more are still missing following last week’s building collapse in George, South Africa.

So yes, just six victims have been recognized, and rescue operations have not yielded any additional survivors.

Search and rescue operations are focusing on the fallen structure’s basement, first and second floors. Heavy equipment, sniffer dogs, and cranes are being used in this operation.

The search for survivors and recovery of the dead involves over 600 individuals, including teams from neighboring towns.

George is well-known as a tourist and golfing hotspot, located around 400 kilometers east of Cape Town.

Law enforcement and government agencies are investigating what caused the collapse in the hopes of preventing similar disasters in the future.
