The developing countries in Africa are trying to make a good relationship with European nations. They want to foster clear methods on how they can work together. Over recent days, Angola has been at the forefront, strengthening its union with Spain.
Angola is trying to build strong economic and political pillars. These two are always the foundation of a better nation. When we maintain peace while carrying out our politics, it enhances unity.
Joao Lourenco, the Angola President, was in Madrid for an international tour. After that, he went directly to the United States where he spent several days before coming back to his home country. He met various leaders from different countries.
It’s the second time the Angolan President is visiting Spain. In April, he went to meet Pedro Sanchez, the Prime minister of Spain. His agenda was to increase the influence of the Spanish citizens in Africa, specifically in Angola.
Upon arriving in Madrid, Lourenco got a warm welcome from King Fellipe VI at Zarzuela Palace. Spain is headed by a King followed by the prime minister. They had a long discussion.
However, President Joao came out clear that the visit was to partner with Spain and establish a positive strategy for their citizens. His aim is to narrow the gap between the whites and the blacks by fostering cooperation and friendship. Different areas of the economy have to be looked into, where they can share products. They also discussed how to reduce the import tax to make the movement of goods within borders easier.
The Spaniard prime minister Pedero Sanches went ahead to confirm the bond between the two nations. He admitted that Spain was ready and willing to form a good union with many African countries. Its companies must work to diversify their product in Africa at an affordable price. By doing this, they will have contributed to the economy of Angola. Spain also imports most of its oil from Angola.
The minister for external affairs also talked about the two countries’ relationship. He confirmed that the borders of Spain and Angola are open to any resident from the two nations, as long as it is for business intentions. It opens up for African investors to seek opportunities in Spain and vice-versa. The symbiotic benefit will be of advantage to both teams.
Tete Antonio, the minister of External Affairs, went ahead to praise the partnership, which has promised a lot. He proceeded, ‘ Strategic partnerships are very important because from two partnerships we can not only attract investments but also attract knowledge that participates in diversification. Diversification also implies ‘know-how’ for people, for technicians, for the young people that we must undertake… so you have to be a quality worker for us to really achieve the transformation we want.’ This shows a good relationship can only be achieved by hard work and consistency.
Spain has found Angola to be their strategic place in Africa for their growth. The developed country has invested in many companies found in Angola. This is an advantage to the Angolan people because they benefit from employment. Now is their time to invest in Spain.
