According to an interview with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov published on Tuesday, the United States is aiming to undermine the next meeting between Russia and African states as part of its efforts to isolate Moscow.

Cooperation on infrastructure, technology, and energy projects is part of Moscow’s preparations for its second summit with African states. It is scheduled to hold in St. Petersburg at the end of July.

Lavrov told the website, “It is true that the United States and its vassals are doing everything possible to achieve Russia’s international isolation.” “In particular, they are aiming to disrupt the impending second summit between Russia and Africa by pushing our African partners not to go,” the person stated.

According to Lavrov, “less and fewer people are willing to stop at nothing for former colonial states. Therefore the danger to the conference is diminishing.

There will be continued efforts to disrupt our cooperation with governments in the global South and East,. However, their chances of success are very low.

Russia has switched it’s focus on Africa

Although fighting in what Moscow calls “special military operation” in Ukraine. Wagner Group mercenaries from Russia have been battling extremists in Mali and the Central African Republic.
