South African President Releases Controversial Report

The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has come out clear that he is not practicing corruption. He condemned the media for the controversial report about a contract for the coivd19 campaign. The media has gone to correct the mistake they made before further action can be taken.

The news reporters are one of the people who are free to talk about everything happening in the country. They have a mandate to bring matters into the limelight. They sit between the dark secret world and the citizens of the country. No one has the power to confront what they have said. However, sometimes, the party can take action and sue the media channel. A final decision in court will determine who is in the wrong.

The said contract was given to a certain private company by the ministry of health and sciences. The private company, Digital vibes defended the matter by admitting that it did not have any relationship with the president nor the ministry of health.

The reports from media and bloggers claimed that some senior officials from the government benefitted in the long run. They had a plan to whom will receive the project even before it was launched. Could that be investigated too?

The minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize has gone ahead to resign after the National intelligence team did their investigation.  The resignation took place in June and more investigation is ongoing. Zweli decided to take the action after getting much pressure from citizens and other investigating officers about the matter. He is yet to face a court of law.

Recently, Sandile Buthelezi, the director-general for health, got suspended last weekend. The government took the action after the director fell short of suspects in the contract. Suddenly, he will stay at home for an unknown period before the case begins.

The South African investigation team has promised to accelerate the process. It is through early catch that the nation will stop using many funds in corruption matters. Citizens have urged CIDs to keep up with their jobs and not fear any sector or leader. They are very eager to get the final report about what happened.

The President’s office has had a difficult time since July. South Africans were furious about the matter. The delay in the initial findings was to be released before the end of the month. It has taken time until September. It reached an appointment where some citizens came out to say even the president was involved. This is a bad actor when you abuse your leader falsely.

In the report, the resigned Minister Zweli Mkhize got involved in the deal with a close associate. It said that the two have known each other for a long time and that might be one of the factors why the company received the tender. Zweli hired the man a few days before giving out the tender.

However, the investigation is still ongoing. There is nothing to fear. Those involved will be jailed. The president has promised tough rules over what anyone who gets involved in corruption means.
