West Ham’s Transfer Target: Michail Antonio Points to Chelsea’s Key Asset

West Ham United’s forward Michail Antonio expresses concern about his team’s upcoming match against Chelsea, particularly highlighting the threat posed by Chelsea’s key player, Cole Palmer.

Chelsea is preparing to host West Ham in a significant Premier League encounter, with both teams vying for European qualification. Chelsea’s recent victory against Tottenham has boosted their hopes, placing them in eighth position in the league table under Mauricio Pochettino’s management. West Ham, meanwhile, sits in ninth place, trailing Chelsea by two points.

West Ham has been struggling to secure positive results recently, winning only one of their last nine games across all competitions.

Ahead of the match, Michail Antonio, aged 34, focused on Chelsea’s 21-year-old attacking playmaker, Cole Palmer. Palmer has had an outstanding debut season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Antonio praised Palmer’s exceptional performances and revealed that West Ham had attempted to sign him before Chelsea acquired him. He admitted to Sky Sports, “Cole Palmer. Obviously he’s been quality this season. Got 20 [league] goals. The crazy thing is we tried to sign him ourselves and Chelsea stole him from us. He is a quality player and he’s doing well… Hopefully this weekend we can keep him quiet.”

The match between West Ham and Chelsea is anticipated to be fiercely contested. Both teams are eager to secure a crucial victory in their pursuit of European qualification.
