An Overview Of The Topic.

Despite the coronavirus damaging many aspects of life such as economic and social, it also creates a sense of love. What do I mean here? People around the globe are searching for dates via online dating sites since restrictive measures limit the reach of love?

For those with loved ones, they make their dating more serious since they are only left with them for now. This increases the emotional support for the couples as they find new ways of being together without a real-life to date. Social distancing creates a gap for some people, making it a challenge for them to meet their dates.

What Is It All About The New Ways For Finding Love Despite The Coronavirus Pandemic?

COVID-19 has not stopped people from interacting and finding love within themselves. Many couples around may chill together on the sofa with their bucket of popcorns and watch Netflix. Unlucky people in love may get to dating websites or apps and interact and engage with various people. Online daters may have that sense of love which can turn to a real Romeo and Juliet story.

Recently, several reports show that activities in these sites are going up as new people find new love. For example, in an online dating platform such as Bumble, there is a huge increase in the rate of activities.

Tinder asks people to adhere to lockdown rules. This is to help people contain the disease since no one wants their partners to get sick from the virus. It created an opportunity by giving a free passport feature until the end of next month.

This feature enables its users to match with other people overseas without paying an upgrade fee.

With the Inner Circle, we know its founder as David Vermeulen, it has seen a tremendous change. 25% of its subscribers tend to video chat a lot whiles 16% like to talk mostly on phones. The rate of messaging goes up to 116% and its general activity goes up over 20%. Its users are mostly from Berlin, London, New York and Hong Kong.

David Vermeulen says, “There has also been an 800% increase in members talking about ‘quarantine’ since the start of March. Mentions of Netflix have also increased by 70% as people discuss how they are keeping entertained.”

The Disadvantages Of Online Dating.

Besides online dating being a solution during this crisis, it has a lot of demerits. First of all, people might fall in love with one another without meeting up. This is wrong since as human beings, we all need that real touch from a person we love.

Swiping apps encourage what we call breadcrumbing and oblige-swiping. breadcrumbing is an act of sending sweet messages flirtatious without having intentions of meeting a real person. This loses the real meaning of love and causes detachment of a couple dating. Therefore, people need to be careful while interacting with one another.
