Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, is a Nigerian musician who has won several awards. He recently said that the American rapper Kanye West is his ideal musical partner.

This information was divulged by the singer known as “Omo Ope” during an interview with Billboard News.
According to the performer, he has to have an emotional connection to both the other artist and their music before he will collaborate with them on a song.

Asake said, “Before I can compose music with you, I need to have a personal connection with you first. It is imperative that I feel at ease with you. Not even for the sake of the music on its own.

“I’m not trying to imply that I can’t compose music with other people; I’m saying that I like genuine energy. If you enjoy me in addition to my music, that’s a good sign. However, I have to connect to your music and get along with the person I want to collaborate with before I can consider it a possibility. It is necessary to have synergy.

I have been repeating this from the beginning; maybe God will make it happen. It would be a dream come true for me to collaborate with Kanye [West].

He used the following analogy regarding the enormous growth of the Afrobeat genre worldwide: “It is like you having a baby and your baby is growing.” It’s nice to have something around you, especially if that item is developing since it makes you feel good.

“Within the next few years, it [afrobeats] will become more popular.”

At the 16th Annual Headies, which were just recently held, Recall Asake emerged victorious in both the Album of the Year and the Next Rated categories, taking home two prizes.
