His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, praised Ugandan President HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s contribution to regional peace-building and pledged to collaborate with him in this effort.
“My Government will work together with Uganda for a peaceful region,” the crown prince of Abu Dhabi stated in his statements.
The crown prince and Uganda’s president met for bilateral talks with the Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Forces and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting at the Crown Prince’s Al Meena Palace in Abu Dhabi, in attendance of Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gen. Jeje Odong and Hon. Matia Kasaija, the Finance Planning and Economic Development, the Crown Prince, welcomed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to Abu Dhabi, UAE. He stated that the president’s visit was an opportunity to benefit from his experience and knowledge of security and country building.
“You are welcome, Your Excellency, to Abu Dhabi. Now that you are here, I am going to benefit from your leadership experience and knowledge, especially on security issues,” His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan said.
The crown prince directed his Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdulah bin Zayed, who was present, to lead a delegation of high-profile business leaders to Uganda to explore investment opportunities.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni thanked his counterpart for the warm welcome he and his delegation received and invited him to visit Uganda. The crown prince accepted and is set to visit in January 2022.
“I am very happy to meet you, and to visit UAE and Abu Dhabi,” President Museveni said.
Uganda’s president briefed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on four investment sectors that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may be interested in, including fertilizer production, energy, steel, and Agro-processing.
The president also stated that Uganda is a good investment destination because of the country’s peace, good infrastructure, and market availability.
The UAE Ambassador attended the meeting with Uganda Amb. Abdulla Alshamsi, Uganda’s Ambassador to UAE, Amb. Zaake Kibedi, among others.
