Black Panther Sequel to Occur Underwater

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther, is one of the most highly praised films worldwide. Since the first black panther was a success, there is no way it will have one sequel. Although the release dates for Black Panther 2 is not precise, 2022 might be the year. With Ryan Coogler back as the director, there is no doubt; the sequel will be exciting.

The Underwater War

Working with children, animals, and water during film production usually comes with challenges. However, working with water, in particular, has proved to have more cons than pros. Film producers have reported cases of actors acquiring illnesses like pneumonia and hypothermia because of the long hours of staying in cold water during rehearsals.

That aside, there is a probability that most of the Black Panthers sequel will take place undersea. The fact that Okoye, one of the cast, mentioned an underwater earthquake off the coast of Wakanda is proof that Atlantis is finally coming to the MCU. In that, the two Kingdoms, i.e., Wakanda and Atlantis, will go to war.

Amid the war, Marvel might introduce the character Namor as the main villain. Namor is an underwater dwelling mutant that is half Atlantean and half-human. He is sought of like Aquaman, though from MCU. Namor fighting the Wakanda is a great twist, considering they were friends in the previous scene. It would be great to see such intense rivalry brought to the scene.

Who will be the New Black Panther with T’Challa Gone?

Boseman Chadwick, aka T’Challa, is a prominent movie star known to many from the billion-dollar film Black Panther. T’Challa’s role captivated audiences back in 2018 when Black Panther was the talk of the town. By playing the King’s role and protector of the fictional Wakanda, he became the audience’s favorite character. However, last year, a tragic incident happened.

The famous star succumbed on 28th August after ailing from colon cancer. Chadwick had been diagnosed with the illness even before the first Black Panther premiered. His death had impacted the sequel plans a whole lot. Not even Black Panther lovers thought the film would have a continuation.

Meanwhile, while addressing plans for Black Panther, the Marvel President, Kevin Feige, stated that they would not recast T’Challa’s role. Instead, they would introduce T’Challa’s early life, see him grow as a king. Mr. Feige also celebrated Boseman for his excellent acting skills and for uniquely bringing out T’Challa’s character.

Filming Black Panther 2 might begin in July this year in Atlanta. And it might come to the theatres on 8th July 2022. That’s if the pandemic doesn’t delay the plans. The duration seems like a respectful distance to figure out the next plot considering black pather (T’Challa) is gone. But what viewers are sure of is Mr. Boseman’s absence will not be in the open.

Meanwhile, since T’Challa won’t be recast, his title as the black panther could be passed over to others, including his sister, Shuri. The latter also portrayed a fierce warrior character in the previous sequel. Most of the continuation will involve the characters introduced in the first part. However, Narcos Mexico Star, Tenoch Huerta, may join the cast.
