The state media in Sudan reported about a failed coup that attempted to mess with the government. The media confirmed that there were many military officers along the main bridge on River Nile. The reports originated from Omdurman and the capital of Khartoum.
There have been plotters who tried to confront and take over the media building, but they did not succeed. The AFP’s new agency spokesman reported earlier today. By doing that, the government has taken the issue with serious actions it deserves.
The government security head said strict measures have to be taken immediately to fix the issue before it raptures and becomes something big. They don’t want to have conflict among themselves like Guinea. Mali also underwent the same situation last year.
Social media is a free zone where everyone can post what is in their minds. Sudan has not implemented strict measures on the use of social media platforms. A trending video on social media shows vehicles in the city with armed officers. Others are even in the civilian. It is very hard to identify their faces. However, the AFP agency reported that the traffic is flowing smoothly. Central Khartoum is a dangerous zone now.
Mohamed AL Faki, a military spokesman from a news agency said the suspects will be found within a few days. They would have to face trial in court to report exactly what they were doing. Also the source of the coup has to be identified. If found by any mistake, they will be kept behind bars for an unspecified number of year. Investigation security office has already gotten the mandate to work on this project. The National Intelligence Unity will also be involved in the process of searching for the suspects.
After the election in 2018, the long-term serving president, Mr. Omar al-Bashir got stiff competition. He lost his seat and that brought some minor suspension about unfair elections.
There was a power-sharing agreement that made a statement with the civilian representatives, military, and some protest groups. Does the suspects exist among this people? They have to be investigated because they are the main suspects.
The current government of Sudan is under pressure as people demand quick developments. Sudanese were very eager to see the fruits of the new governments. Therefore, they have high hopes which will take time to be satisfied. The economy of Sudan got a blow from pandemics when the new government had just taken over. They opened the country earlier this year and there is still enough time to make some changes.
The political pillar is also another strong arm of the nation. A good government should always ensure they keep that as a key to avoid war during elections. It is also the work of the government to identify the best way in which politics will run without interfering with the peace of its citizens.
The liberal and conservative constituencies in Sudan have the same mandate to ensure people are living a high standard of life. Security is to be enforced in all areas. Such incident that happened today is blamed on the national security officers for poor management of their resources. It is a shameful matter for the city to experience such a terror attack yet the police are within the same area.
