Following the abundant loss of lives, countries are striving to get the Covid-19 vaccine if not the cure. For instance, Madagascar is claiming to have a cure for the virus. Two more countries recently joined the list of supporters. This weekend, Tanzania and Comoros confirmed their concern in herbal medicine.

Africans demand for an herbal cure comes after reports that the provided testing kits from overseas were fake. Many are now concerned why the foreign countries donated some fake gear in the name of helping. The majority proposes that this was a strategy to kill Africans as animals, fruit samples sent to labs turned positive for the virus.

Africans response

A formal request is underway for the purported herbal cure. The Comoros president Azali Assoumani held a teleconference with his Malagasy complement Andry Rajoelina. Andry responds on twitter page, posted a screenshot of their meeting. Rajoelina says that Assoumani wishes to gain from CovidOrganics. Besides, efforts are in place to supply the plant-based remedy, a sign of solidarity.

President John Magufuli revealed on Sunday that Tanzania would also make requests for the medication to aid in the battle against the pandemic. Mr. John says he is in talks with Madagascar, to import the product. Notably, Magufuli declares that soon the medicine will hit the borders so that people can benefit.

Still, on the race of the cure, Magufuli says that some testing kits donated to Africa are not trustworthy. He says bird, goat, and pawpaw samples sent to the labs returned positive for coronavirus. In the first place, the fake kits are the reason Africans look for an alternative option. However, the herbal remedy is not yet approved.  W.H.O rejected Covidorganic before further testing, saying it might have harmful effects. Is there an explanation of why they rushed into the conclusion before subjecting the herbal cure for further testing to prove otherwise?

Africans intellect and determination

In the meantime, the Guinea Bissau health personnel that flew to Madagascar have returned home with the product. Reports say that Equatorial Guinea was the first to receive the donations. In this race, those providing the bounties seem to overlook the fact that Africans are making some sense for the proposed cure. Now, it is a chance for African leaders to unite and use criticism as an opportunity to rise to the top.

Friends, including the president of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal, are praising Rajoelina for the bold move.  On Saturday, D.R.C says that soon they will import herbal shipment. Rajoelina, in an African Union meeting last month, stressed the importance of the herbal cure. He spoke to fellow heads of state with a bottle of the herb on his table and recapped its viability.

Conclusion

At the moment, most African countries are ready to embrace the Covid-organic as the virus is now rapidly spreading into communities. An excellent example is Madagascar, embracing the herbal product in two treatment protocols (preventive and curative). According to the president, the state of health of COVID-19 patients who took the Covid-organic improved in seven days and fully recovered after ten days.
